Half Moon Bay Turning Into Shangri-la

leave a comment »

On Saturday around 8pm there was a landslide just off Highway 92 out here in lovely Half Moon Bay. It took out a fiber optic cable I had very much been taking for granted. Said cable carried regular wired phone, broadband internet, and even wireless phone communications.

Combine it with another landslide which has forced a months-long road closure of Highway 1 at Devil’s Slide, and we are just a few natural disasters away from becoming a fantasy or lore or a myth.

Thankfully, due to the hard work of AT&T repair crews up until midnight last night, we are back on the grid and wired to serve!
