Oracle’s R12 UI Improvement – Good Stuff!

with one comment

A picture is worth a thousand words. Take a look at the facelift in progress for R12 of Oracle E-Business Suite Applications! (follow this link to the “official” Oracle blog by Steven Chan).

Sure, you say, but isn’t “Project Swan” just fonts, font sizes, font weights, colors, icons, and “chrome”? Yes.. but WOW, it makes a big difference.

And here’s an insider’s secret – this was the last project I sponsored before I left Oracle. For me, it wasn’t “Project Swan,” but instead “Project Swan Song.”

There’s a good story about how “Project Swan”, a pure skunkworks project from a few AMAZING peoplesofters, made it’s way on to the official R12 list. But I need to be liquored up to tell it. (and sadly, I’m not.. now where’s my Cinco de Mayo margarita mix?)

  1. That’s a story I’d love to hear sometime, Dave. Never underestimate the power of a small number of people to make a difference. In our industry, real progress is never achieved by committee. HP started with two people, Google started with two people… the stories are legion.

Thanks for the pointer, by the way.

    Regards,
    Steven
